VIMFF 2019 Closing night

This was me kicking off closing night of the Vancouver International Mountain Film Festival (VIMFF), where I re-capped highlights of the festival, and continued the message of inspiring adventurous thought and action for the betterment of people and the planet. I talked about some of what inspired me during the festival; from Liv Sansoz and her 82 4,000m peaks in the Alps, to David & Harry Crerar and Bill Maurer and 80 peaks on Vancouver's North Shore. I encouraged the audience to find their own literal or figurative mountain challenge. I urged everyone to say "yes" to opportunities to connect with mountain legends such as the ones that happened earlier in the week with Doug Robinson and Kelly Cordes. Finally, I introduced one of my own climbing inspirations, Sasha DiGiulian whose message around her Canadian 5.14 Big Wall Trilogy is so in alignment with everything that I had been talking about all week. When not helping businesses with their profitability & growth, or exploring mountains myself, I volunteer for a number of organizations including being Chair of VIMFF. VIMFF celebrates outdoor adventure and mountain culture through film, photography, presentations, and workshops. VIMFF brings communities together and creates a platform for the exchange of ideas and experiences between filmmakers, artists, outdoor enthusiasts, and the public.
